What is Search Engine Result Page(SERP)


A Search Engine Result Page (SERP) is the listing of results  returned by a Search Engine return it includes a list of search result that are relevant to the search phrase or keywords you entered.The list will include not only the links but also a short decription of each page and of course,the titles of the webpages. A SERP may refer to a single page of links returned or to the set of all links retuned for a search query.
Many search engine results page have different types of listings. These types of SERPs are found most commonly in large search engines,such as Google,Bing and Yahoo.
They include result such as:

  • Contextual
  • Sponsored listing
  • Algorithmic
  • Organic search listing
  • Images
  • Maps
  • Definitions
  • Suggestedd search query refinements
Major search engine can also offer specific search engine result pages that pertain to specific the specific types of listings.Search engine result pages can also be the result page for an image search ,a map search,a  news search,a blog search or many of the other options major search engines offer.
